I love my profession and have enjoyed being a carer for twenty years, in private homes looking after people's family members with dementia, concurrent with working in firstly an EMI care home, and then in a care home for people with learning disabilities and autism. This means my training and experience has been kept up to date and has given me a wide variety of skills and experiences and opportunities to learn every day I go to work. Working with families is very important to me as it's so important to keep loved ones happy and cared for in their own homes and to provide such needful support to the families to do this.
