My experience as a carer equates to around 25 years, and is largely with the elderly with dementia. Although more recently includes palliative/end of life care. As a people person I am caring and compassionate, and someone who easily identifies with the needs of others. Additionally, I am an enthusiastic, self-motivated and confident individual, who is also flexible, adaptable and hard-working. In my spare time i enjoy spending time with my family, and also my church family, swimming, country walks, music, eating out, reading and further education.

Hi! My experience as a carer has been gained through working for a domiciliary care agency. I visited clients in their homes to support with personal care ( washing/dressing, brushing teeth, combing hair, changing incontinence pads, catheter care, assisting to go to the toilet/commode). I can use a hoist to move people in/out of bed and into a chair. I can also cook meals, complete light cleaning and laundry. I am friendly, compassionate, kind and a good listener. I have worked as a carer in paid and unpaid work for 3 years and have looked after people with physical and mental health conditions including dementia, stroke, cancer and schizophrenia. I became a carer while initially looking after family members. I enjoy looking after people and find this work very rewarding.
