Hello my name is Chantelle, I first got into care when I was 18 and absolutely fell in love with it! I love being able to support people in their lives, keeping them as independent as possible and having such an important role in someone’s life. It’s an honour really. I am a caring, compassionate person naturally. I ensure all of my clients are treated with the up most respect, dignity, choice and that the person I am supported is in control of there care. Whether that’s personal care and helping you wash your hair, to going to the garden to see all the lovely plants around, or cup of tea, or just someone being there. I have worked as a support worker for people with learning disabilities, helping them in the community and helping them to achieve there goals and aspirations. My precious role I was a senior rapid responder for carers in the community. In this role we also supported patients after being admitted to hospital. Whether it’s support for yourself or your loved one, Just know they will be kind, safe hands and I will do my very best to ensure they have the best day in my company. I am passionate woman who likes to see positive outcomes in the lives of people whom l work with. I find joy in seeing that my work has made life easier for my clients within my social work role. I am currently supporting families to safeguard vulnerable children, however l am quite passionate about adult safeguarding and would like to specialise in adult social work in the future hence this experience will enable me to gain insight into the issues that affect our elderly community and will enhance my understanding and skills when interacting with them. I am a qualified counsellor, and I bring in counselling skills, i.e., empathy, patience, advanced listening where I pick up unsaid concerns, I pick up on body language, patient, etc. I also bring in skills I picked up naturally of treating everyone, especially senior citizens like I would treat my own elderly family member, that is a skill one learns who comes from an extended family background. At my age, I understand situations better as I have learned from the upniversity of life.
