Hi. I have been a live-In-carer since 2011, am familiar with virtually all aspects of care, and am aware of what is required to provide the optimum level of care for each individual . I have extensive experience in caring for gentlemen with dementia, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's, have developed skills in dealing with challenging behaviour and situations, and have also cared for women, and couples. I have the ability to put people at ease and feel comfortable in my presence, and gain satisfaction from assisting people and helping to improve their quality of life. My care has always been administered in a person-centred manner, where care is tailored to meet the needs of each individual. I have particularly enjoyed the companionship aspect of care, and feel relaxed in the company of elderly people. Recently worked on a project in Devon designed to make more hospital beds available, which was disbanded due to a lack of funding. My interests are manifold, and include sport, literature, travel, music, current affairs, reading, art, and cooking, and I often listen to the radio. I have both a clean driving licence, and DBS. Firstly, being a carer is a noble profession that requires compassion, patience, and dedication. It's a rewarding role that involves providing support to people who need it the most. I am someone who finds fulfillment in helping others. One reason why am a good carer is my natural inclination to be empathetic and compassionate towards others. I am able to put myself in the shoes of those you are supporting, understanding their emotional and physical needs. I also have excellent communication skills that will help me to build strong relationships with those I am caring for. Being able to listen and communicate effectively helps me to understand their needs better and provide them the best possible support. Furthermore, I am a patient person. Some care situations can be very unpredictable, and it's important to be able to remain calm and level-headed in whatever situation may arise. Above all, as a good carer, i am committed to the well-being of those i am caring for. Caring requires sacrifice, but it is a sacrifice worth making when it comes to enhancing the quality of life for others.
