I am an experienced care worker who has been doing care for 7 years. I have had the opportunity to work in many different healthcare settings ranging from hospitals to day centres. I also have experience in stoma care. Care work is the only job I have had so I believe I am knowledgeable enough in most aspects of care but there is always more to learn which I love! I’ve spent most of my career caring for elderly with dementia but have cared for people of all ages throughout the years I’ve been in care.
For more than nine years I have worked as a professional live in carer, giving care assistance to vulnerable people and in the past I was a carer for my mother, grandfather and my friend's daughter. I have proven my ability to work with elders and children by giving them the best care services, assisting in all aspects of their care needs (physical, emotional and spiritual), having experience in providing care to a range of adult clients including those with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Dementia, spinal injuries, young people with learning difficulties and a young person with Dandy-Walker Syndrome, a rare congenital brain condition. My duties have included: providing companionship, supporting clients with personal care, lifting in/out of bed help with using the toilet, moving and handling techniques, administering medication, preparing healthy meals and assisting with feeding, general cleaning duties, accompanying clients to appointments and social outings, supporting clients to pursue their hobbies, interests and social activities, also I need to be vigilant and watch out for any potential hazards, guiding my customer when necessary. I have a compassionate attitude and sympathy towards vulnerable people., having a strong desire to make a positive difference in people' s lives. Also I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to talk and listen to people from all backgrounds. The ability to work closely with colleagues, such as nurses and doctors, care officers or social workers. Able to give help and support when people have concerns or emotional problems. Practical and good at working with my hands with a hard work ethic and ability to get on with tasks. Flexible, adaptable and methodical in my approach to my work and able to follow instructions and complete tasks. Adherence to important health and safety guidelines. My hobbies are: listening to music, travelling, watching movies .
I am kind, hard working and enjoy working closely with others, especially older people. I have 2 years experience of working in the care industry. I work hard to get to know my clients, so I can help them enjoy their interests and hobbies. I am a very patient person. I enjoy my job and like talking to my clients as I perform my duties. For the past 2 years I have been caring for an elderly couple who are 95 years of age. They both have dementia and suffer from anxiety and depression. The lady also has Parkinson’s disease. Both need assistance with personal care, toileting, administering medication, cooking healthy meals, shopping, doing daily physio exercises and chores around the house. I take them out for short walks. They also enjoy going for a drive in my car. Before becoming a carer, I worked in a primary school as a Teaching Assistant for 15 years. I enjoyed working work children. I enjoy reading books. I help my mum with her gardening as she’s quite old and needs help and it gives me a chance to spend time with her and keep her company. I also enjoy going for walks and encourage my mum to come with me too. Please get in touch if you think that I might be able to help you. Thank you
I have worked in care for 10 years and am passionate about caring for people. During my career I have worked in various social care environments, and my most recent role is a live-in carer. I really enjoy supporting people on a one to one basis, because it allows me to spend more time with them, build a good relationship and make difference in their lives. My style I would say is quite patient and calm. I am thoughtful, good tempered and considerate of the clients feelings. I am able to communicate effectively even when people find it difficult to get their point across (e.g. Dementia, Alzheimer’s). I am honest, understanding and able to respond to requests in a sensitive and professional manner. Throughout my career as a professional carer, I have worked with a multitude of people with different diagnosis, and am confident providing care for clients with Parkinson’s, MS, Dementia, stroke, diabetes, palliative and stoma care. Over the course of the years, I have come to know that every client is different so it is important to find the best way to help them live a fulfilled life. I always ensure to maintain effective communication with my clients, their families and other health professionals who might be involved in the care process. I am well organised, responsible and hard-working. I enjoy walking, reading, playing board games, cooking and keeping home neat and tidy. Thank you for taking time to read my profile. Kind regards. Anna
