When I was in high school, my grandmother suffered from cancer and helping her was my first experience in care. Later in my life, I worked for 19 months in a nursing home in Norfolk. One part of the role, was looking after people who had suffered from stroke, cancer or Parkinson's disease. The other unit was for people with different types of dementia and different mental disorders. During my work there, I got a lot of experience how to use all sorts of equipment like hoist, stand aids etc. I got a qualification for NVQ level 2 in Care. Later, I decided I would like to provide one to one dedicated care with private clients and currently I have 6 years experience as a live in carer. I am very hardworking and a responsible person. I always keep my clients as priority. My longest placement was 3 years. I worked for a lady with dementia. I was providing personal care, cooking, feeding, housekeeping and making sure she was getting her medication on time. In her later stages of life, I had to use a hoist and cooperate with additional carers, palliative care and end of life specialist teams. Sadly my client passed away in July 2018. As this job can be tiring, in my spare time or on breaks, I often exercise or swim to keep myself both physically and mentally fit for the job. I like English history so sometimes, I like to visit historic places in London. I like to cook for my client and I am quite familiar with British cuisine. I like to try new recipes.
