BB5 2RX 245678 Hi my name is Gertrude, but I prefer to be called Trudy for short. Before starting a family I had 7 years experience as as carer. I learned that hard work, listening and empathy were important. The attributes grew on me when I was dealing with cases of dementia and other chronic conditions associated with advancing years. I believe patience and fully understanding a client's needs helps in providing a more comfortable life. I have experience in personal grooming, hygiene, dressing, toileting and cooking. I have missed working with the elderly and now my children are at University. I have the opportunity to return to caring. I enjoy history. current affairs, sewing, cooking and tending my small vegetable garden. I prefer to have my clients more mobile and do not require hoisting. As I do not drive I am looking for clients through out the day to have longer hours of 5/10 hours shifts or within travelling distance of Accrington. I can also do sleeping nights and I am flexible on what nights I work to fit in with the clients needs. I can also do part time live in positions ideally 3/days in row with 30 miles of Accrington, when doing live in I prefer to have my 2 hours break each day. Please get in touch if I can be of help to you.

As she progressed with age, I was also becoming a young woman,I could realise she was getting tired and I would offer to do anything for her, so I became a Carer without knowing. I loved reading novels and my grandmother enjoyed listening to me read out loud ,it became our Saturday night activity as I wouldn’t be going to school the following day. On Sundays we would walk to church and back for the fact that granny believed in keeping her muscles moving . Walking with my grandmother taught me to listen as she always had a tale to tell, Sundays became my favourite days as I was always looking forward to listening to another story. When I became a Professional Carer , that’s when I realised how much my childhood impacted in my life, I empathise with everyone I care for, I listen to them and participated in any activities they enjoy. Caring for elderly or anyone who needs my help gives me a purpose in life. In my spare time I like to exercise ,cook, watch movies or read. I have been a Professional Carer for the past nine years, cared for individuals with Dementia, Parkinson's,Epileptic,Physical disabilities ,COPD, Stroke,Palliative care. Started caring in a Nursing home for two and a half years ,moved to Supported living with young adults transitioning to adulthood from 2010 to 2015 . 2015 - 2017 worked with The Good Care Group as a Live-in Professional Carer supporting elderly with various conditions in their own homes. August 2017 my aunt had a stroke and I had to give up work and care for her. October 2018 she passed away, November 2018 I started working with Elder Care as a Live in Carer supporting elderly. As a Carer I have acquired various certificates including, Care Certificate, First Aid,Moving and Handling, Mental Health awareness Level 2 to mention a few. I’d like to believe that I am a great Carer as everyone I’ve cared for has given my employer a really good feedback about my work, as a trained Carer I believe in person centred care, we are all different and our needs are different, everything I do with anyone I seek permission and let them know what I wish to do. In addition I’m very flexible , committed , trusted and reliable individual.

BL79TT 7204 Hi. I’m Jennie, I’m 43, & married to Stephen, (who is also an experienced Care worker) - we have 3 older aged children; Brittany (20), Tyler (16) & Dylan (11). We live in the rural village of Egerton & enjoy exploring the local countryside. I’ve worked in various fields of Care for 25 years including Childcare as a Nanny/Housekeeper & a Registered Childminder - on occasions I’ve cared for children with mild to severe disabilities, autism & blindness. I’ve cared for adults & children with severe disabilities & medical conditions including MS, dementia, cancer, blindness or who have suffered a stroke & adults who have mental health conditions & children with autism and for those who required care at the end of their life whilst additionally offering my full support & compassion to their families. I feel I have always offered a sensitive approach to all of those I’ve cared for, always ensuring their needs are met in a kind and dignified manner. In 2024 I graduated from the Open University with a Diploma of Higher Education (Open) following 4 years studying Psychology, Mental Health & Health & Social Care modules. I have also gained an Advanced Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care which followed my Level 2. In addition to this I have a NVQ Level 2 in Early Years & Childcare & have been certified with Key skills in Communication & Application of Number as well as mandatory training certificates, such as moving & handling, medication administration, basic life support etc. I’ve always enjoyed my role as a Care worker, meeting many wonderful individuals & families who I’ve built up a rapport with & being able to care for them in their own home whilst always promoting their independence has always given me great job satisfaction - whilst always ensuring each service user’s individual needs are attended to & that their safety and confidentiality remains paramount. I am looking forward to continuing to offer my care experience & expertise to those who should require them. My hourly rates vary depending on the care & tasks required & rates are all negotiable.

OL16 4AY 99561 I have worked in health and social care for almost 25 years, the last 18 in the community. I love my work and making a difference in peoples lives. I have specialised in palliative care in the community for over ten years and have a lot of experience working with clients with a dementia diagnosis. I have worked with disabled adults, young children and teenagers which involved some autism, muscular dystrophy and other more complex / genetic conditions, some work in rehabilitation both physical and ex offenders with psychiatric conditions. I've worked for many years with the elderly including two years specialised EMI care. I have worked as a senior carer in many settings and also managed home care for a private firm for two years as a domiciliary care consultant. Palliative / elderly care is my main area of expertise, however I enjoy working with people of all ages, and work from a person centred approach. I cherish meeting so many people, and building relationships with them. I’ve been lucky enough to work with patients of a large age range, my youngest being 4 years old and my oldest being 103! I have worked through registered businesses also privately, in institutionalised settings as well as many years community experience during the day and over night, unsupervised lone working whilst maintaining high standards without guidance is second nature. Whilst I have worked in a variety of settings, I much prefer working on a 1-1 basis so my time is just for you. I am reliable and hard working, and I am very clean and organised in all I do, a good time keeper and very much a forward planner. Over the years I have achieved various qualifications including NVQ level 2 & 3 in Care, Level 3 Edexel Certificate in End Of Life Care, Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Care Practice, Adult Psychology Diploma, plus a plethora of other courses pertaining to specific conditions and safe use of various medical aids and equipment. I am very approachable with a calm easy going character, and the patience of a saint I have often been told. Very empathetic by nature and I understand the stresses, pressures and frustrations associated with caring for a loved one at home, I feel privileged to be welcomed into your home to allow me to support you or give you a much needed break. In my spare time reading and researching various subjects is a big pass time. I love more than anything being in the garden, feeding the birds, I both feed and have hog houses for the hedgehogs as well as being a volunteer as a driver for the local hog rescue. Some years I grow my own fruits and vegetables when time allows also. I have three cats at home who I spoil rotten! I adore animals so if you have pets I can fuss over thats great! I enjoy walks in the countryside or around the lake, I love nature in general. I do not charge a short notice rate to clients I am already attending.
