M231bp 103676 Hello my Name is Laura, I am 34 years old and I have 15 years experience working in my local NHS Hospital and 4 years experience caring for people in their own homes. Working in my local NHS Hospital for the past 15 years has allowed me to look after many different people from all walks of life. During this time I have worked on a variety of different wards and worked alongside many different Healthcare Professionals. This has allowed me to gain a high level of experience and knowledge in different aspects of Care. I worked on many different wards in different areas of the hospital. I covered assessment units, admission’s ward, elderly/medical wards, rehabilitation wards, discharge wards, stroke wards, chest wards and occasionally intensive care units. Some of my main duties would include Personal Care, helping admit patients onto the ward and taking vital observations such as Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Blood Sugar levels, Temperature and oxygen. I would be responsible for looking after 7 patients alongside a Registered Nurse, ensuring all documentation was up to date including care plans, fluid balance sheets, food, hygiene and repositioning schedules. I would also be responsible for doing thorough body/skin checks when patients would arrive to hospital to ensure the correct pressure care was in situ and pressure sores were prevented. I would work alongside Physiotherapist, Dietitian’s, Occupational Therapist and many more. Unfortunately working in the hospital for so long I have a lot of experience assisting with End Of Life Care. A little bit about me! I am 34 years old and I have a Family and Home of my own. Family is everything to me and I take great pride in looking after the people I love. One thing about me is that I love a good laugh and a banter. I am also very calm and caring and I am able to deal with stressful situations appropriately. My hobbies include walking in nice parks, cooking healthy nutritious meals, gardening, watching movies, board games, socialising and anything fun related. I really do love the work I do and I care for my clients as if they are my own family. I am not only able to assist with your care needs but help maintain your home too.
