ST17 9HW 106979 I've been a carer for 3 years now. I have experience with cerebral palsy, stroke, cancer, early stage dementia, parkinson, huntingdon, taking clients abroad, respite, hoisting etc. I can prepare healthy meals from scratch. I enjoy cooking wholesome traditional foods. Think one of my favourites is poached salmon. I'm happy to look after your cats. I'm a friendly person with a good sense of humour, a good listener and very honest and reliable. I believe I make a good carer because I am very patient and do not flap. I have done live in care but am happy to do domiciliary care in my area of Stafford although not able to work both ends of the day. Early mornings work well for me. I am looking for live in care work this can re regular or one work and I can accommodate 2/3 weeks on and 1/2 weeks off. During my down time from live in I am available for day time work in my area. I prefer to work with clients that are more mobile and do not require hoisting. When working as a live in carer I prefer cats however I am comfortable in having dogs around the house. I have access to my own car and I am fully covered for business car insurance, I am happy to transport clients to and from appointments and local travel as long as travelling expenses are covered by the client. I prefer not to have wheel chairs in and out of my car. I love swimming, watching tennis and cricket. I like to keep up with current affairs. I am a confident driver with either manual or automatic cars. I enjoy making a difference to someone's life, perhaps this could be you?

WV11 1BQ 299739 My desire to pursue a career in nursing has always existed which has led me to pursue work within this industry however, it was further driven by personal experience at a time in which my own health suffered. I struggled with high blood pressure and gestational diabetes, as a result I delivered all my 3 children through caesarean sections. Nurses were hands-on during and after surgery, from administering medication, personal care, and even emotional support. Even during the COVID pandemic the nurses conducted home visits, managing my blood pressure, sugar levels and my general wellbeing which truly inspired me as they prioritised their patient's care. This subsequently strengthened my appreciation for nurses and motivated me to continue having a positive impact on other people who require care. Given the opportunity, I strongly feel the need to give back the services and make a difference in people's lives. I am a compassionate, competent and committed professional with 8 years experience of working in the Health and Social Care sector as a healthcare assistant and support worker. I currently work with children, the elderly with mild to severe dementia, young adults with learning disabilities as well as patients who are mentally and physically challenged. The patients will either be in their own homes or in a health care setting. My roles and responsibilities often include observing, monitoring and recording patients' daily physical, mental as well as emotional wellbeing. I also assist the patients with washing, dressing, feeding as well as engage in different therapeutic, social and recreational activities. Being a healthcare assistant gave me a chance to undergo extensive training such as manual handling, health and safety, information governance, infection control, safeguarding just to mention a few. This helped me develop essential transferable skills such as managing aggression, de-escalation skills as well as supporting patients when they are in distress. My role has given me an insight into the world of the vulnerable and I have developed skills to advocate for, safeguard, promote confidentiality, respect, independence and dignity among the patients I care for. I possess excellent communication skills including both verbal and non-verbal, which enable me to build therapeutic relationships with the patients and establish professional relationships with my fellow members of staff as well as patients' families. I am used to adapting in any kind of environment, can work under pressure, and still deliver the quality of services expected from a healthcare assistant/support worker. I understand I have to continuously learn and develop aiming to acquire new skills and knowledge as well as maintain the ones I already possess. Thus, I have recently enrolled onto an Access to Health Professionals Course which consists of Health Studies, Human Biology, Psychology and Skills for Learning. This is providing me with a foundation of knowledge such as understanding the roles and responsibilities of healthcare professionals, importance of regulatory bodies and codes of practice as well as current issues faced by the profession such as Brexit, COVID, Shortages etc. This has supported in me developing academic skills such as essay writing, report writing, Harvard referencing and conducting research utilising academic and credible sources. I am extremely passionate about supporting and caring for those that are vulnerable and experiencing distress. I believe every individual at some point experiences some form of distress and it is important that we have an awareness and understanding to enable us to effectively support them. I am extremely committed and dedicated to perform my responsibilities in a professional and effective manner and believe this will allow me to become an excellent mental health nurse

WV10 8RT 34682 Within the last five years of me working in the care industry I have worked in care/residential homes, domiciliary and complex care. I have worked with different types of service users, for example I have assisted elderly people with personal care and everyday chores. This includes me toileting, changing continence pads, washing/showering and dressing and undressing. I have also administered medication and applied topical creams and eye drops. During these tasks I have had to use different techniques to reposition people by either using slide sheets, rolling correctly or even hoisting. Everyday chores will or have included help with the laundry, meal preps, dishes, changing of bedding and basic cleaning or even shopping. I have also helped with peg feeding and stoma care. I have worked with people with a different variety of disabilities such as ms, different kinds of dementia, physical and learning disabilities. I currently assist with taking service users with complex needs out to activity centres, play games and encourage them in different ways not just verbally. Within this time I have learnt how to affectively communicate with family members or medical providers about clients needs, medications and help to arrange appointments if needed. I have had training and experience with manual handling and have used a variety of different equipment which service users need. This includes hoist, wheelchairs, slide sheets, rotundas, walking frames and sticks etc. I consider myself very good at communicating, have a positive attitude and always try and be as helpful as I possible can be. I try to keep myself fit and healthy due to knowing how physical the job at hand can become. I have worked with other carers and on my own and believe I am capable of working with minimal supervision as I am reliable, trustworthy, hard working and work in a person centred way. I enjoy working with the community and helping others to the best of my ability, for them to live their lives the best they can.
